Pastor Bob Phillips
Bob is a native of Mt. Vernon, Il. He holds degrees from the University of Illinois, Asbury Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary and in 2014 completed a 'second childhood' Masters of Literature (M.Litt.) degree from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in The Bible and the Contemporary World. He served 28 years as an active duty Navy chaplain, including 10 years of sea duty on a variety of ships as well as operational Marine Corps assignments stateside and overseas. He retired in 2005 with the rank of Captain. His wife Christy, whom he met at Princeton, is ordained in the American Baptist church. Daughter Sarah is a school teacher in California; daughter Rachel is a United Methodist church planter in Virginia (no, not THAT kind of 'Virginia planter') and daughter Becky is a professor of psychology in North Carolina; all are married with children. Son Thomas was a theatrical stagehand and community volunteer at the time of his unexpected death from diabetes in 2011.
Peoria is Bob and Christy's 23rd move when they were appointed here in July, 2009. As of September, 2013 they have lived in Peoria longer than anywhere in their married lives…and are loving it.

Pastor of Hispanic & Outreach Ministries
Rev. Adrian Garcia graduated from Juan Wesley Seminary, Monterrey, Mexico in 1986. With his wife Lilly, he moved to Cobden, IL, to plant a church that became the largest Hispanic congregation in our conference. Pastor Adrian was appointed to First Church July 1, 2010, to begin a new Spanish Worship Service. Making disciples of Jesus Christ is his passion as well as reaching out to those in downtown Peoria.
Pastor Adrian also serves as Coordinator of Hispanic Ministries for our conference.
He loves spending time with his family, traveling and reading a good book!

Assistant Pastor of Hispanic Ministries
Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Rev. Rios graduated from Seminario Metodista Juan Wesley and is an ordained elder of the Iglesia Metodista de Mexico (Methodist Church of Mexico). He moved here with his family in December, 2013, to assume the position of Assistant Director of Latino Outreach.
Rev. Rios has toured churches throughout Mexico and the United States, ministering and equipping worship teams as well as providing support for youth groups.
He and his wife Rosy, have been happily married for 19 years; their children are Andrea, Miguel and Valeria.
