Adelphians Adult Sunday School Class
Who We Are
Jesus calls everyone who is devoted to Him his Adelphoi -- "brothers and sisters"
so that those who are in spiritual communion with him are also related to one another. Since
the time of Paul, Christians have called one another by this word.
|
And pointing to His disciples, He said, "Here are my mother and brothers! For whoever does
the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."
|
| Matthew 12:49-50 |
The Greek word "Adelphian" means brothers and sisters. Our class is a group of brothers
and sisters in Christ whose goal is to grow in the understanding of the Christian faith.
Through study and reflection of the scriptures and theology, we gain insight as to what
it means for the Church to be the suffering servant of the world. It is our belief that
Christ demands that we make a difference in the world; that we are called to be
peacemakers in our daily encounters within the world.
When and Where We Meet
We meet from 9:45 - 10:30 on Sunday mornings in the lower level of the 700 Main
building (room LL2/3). There is a social gathering time from
9:30 - 9:45 with beverages and treats. |
