Celebrate Missions 2017
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
Friday, October 27 | 6:00 pm | Worship Center
It has often been said that missions is part of the DNA of First United Methodist Church. Whether a group travels to Liberia, or Red Bird Mission, serves in the Soccer Ministry or at Loaves & Fish, prays faithfully or gives generously, the call from God is the same . . . GO.
Celebrate Missions is a time to celebrate God's work in our lives and how that work has transformed our community of faith. The South Side Mission's Culinary Arts Students will provide our meal, table hosts will provide hospitality and we will have a surprise or two - so mark your calendars!
Reservations are required for the meal that evening and can be made by contacting one of the Table Hosts to reserve a seat. If you do not have a table preference, please call the church office, and they will be happy to assign a table host for you. Dinner will be prepared by South Side Mission's Culinary Arts Training School at a cost of $ 13.00 per person.
Table Hosts will collect the money at the dinner. Checks or cash in the exact amount is appreciated as the table hosts will not have change at their tables. Sandy Carver will be available in the Gathering Space on Sunday October 15 from 9:45-10:45 am for table sign up as well.
If you would like to come for just the program, you will not need to make a reservation and should plan to arrive around 6:45 pm.
Youth and Kix Klub Instructions
Dinner for the Youth and KIX Klub will be through Chik-Fil-A for $6. Parents need to let Christina Koeppel know if their Youth students are attending and let Cindy Schairer-Kessler know if their KIX Klub students are attending.
Childcare is provided for 2nd grade children and younger with a free meal of macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, applesauce and a cookie. Please be sure to let your Table Host or the church office know if your children will be attending childcare that evening.
About our Speaker
Paul Till, a missionary at Beskydy Mountain Academy in Czech Republic, will be our guest speaker. We will also hear from members of our church that have been "to the ends of the earth" in the past year. It's sure to be a wonderful celebration and we hope you can join us!!
