Music Ministry

The Music Ministry of First United Methodist Church is a growing, vibrant ministry with more than 300 people involved. They minister to the congregation each week through choral and instumental praise and worship leadership.

Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir is made up of persons age 18 and older. This group leads in worship each Sunday at the 8:15 and 11:00 a.m. worship services and presents major programs during the year at Christmas, Lent, Easter, and other occasions, and serves the Lord in opportunities outside the church. This choir practices on Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. in the Choir Room on the second floor, behind the Sanctuary. You may read the weekly newsletter here.

Worship Band
The Worship Band leads in worship each Sunday morning at the 10:45 a.m. service in the 700 Main Auditorium. This unique blend of keyboards, drums, strings and voices delivers a fresh and upbeat sound that ushers worshipppers into the presence of God in a contemporary setting. Contact Patrick Jenkins at 673-3641 ext 701.

Children’s Choir School
There are three children’s choirs for children ages 4 through grade six. Children learn spiritual truths as they also learn musical knowledge. Members of these choirs are encouraged to attend the 8:15 service with their families and at a specific time, are then released for choir school. These choirs sing regularly for the 8:15 worship service and occasionally at the 11:00 service as well. Contact Jill Foster at 698-0759.
