Morton Square Soccer

Morton Square Park Soccer 2015

Morton Square Park Soccer is a community outreach ministry.  Held each summer at Morton Square Park, we reach boys and girls, ages 5 - 12, through a program of weekly soccer games held on Tuesday evenings.   The ministry began 17 years ago with fewer than 100 children, in 2015 more than 270 registered.  The park becomes a family friendly, prayer-filled environment with the enthusiastic cheering from the families.  Pictures from past seasons can be viewed on our Flickr album.

2018 Season

May 8 & 15: Registration 5:00 - 7:00 pm @ First United Methodist Church
May 22: Weekly games begin @ Morton Square Park

Registration for the 19th season of our Soccer Ministry at Morton Square Park is Tuesday, May 8 and May 15 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in the Worship Center.  All children from 5-12 years old may register to play. Games begin May 22 with the final night of the season being a celebration on July 24.

Soccer at Morton Square Park is truly a ministry. Quite frankly it is not just about soccer but soccer is what brings the church and the community together. We are taking the church outside the walls into the community where we not only show the love of Jesus but share it through prayer and scripture.

Ways to Participate

  1. Register children to participate.
  2. Volunteer to serve during registration by helping to fit and issue shoes, shin guards or socks.
  3. Volunteer to coach.  No soccer skills, knowledge or experience is required.  New coaches are paired with experienced coaches.
  4. Pray for those serving and being served in this ministry.  Come to the park to encourage players and coaches.
