Neutral Ground

". . . whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did it for me."  Matthew 25:40.

Neutral Ground, working in conjunction with Positive Health Solutions (PHS, formerly HIHAC, the multi-county HIV/AIDS Center),  is open each Tuesday from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm to provide fellowship for those persons with HIV/AIDS.  Case managers from PHS select each client based on financial need, fill out a request form for various household cleaning items, toiletries, and paper good items, and send the guest to us. Our volunteers distribute cleaning supplies, disinfectants, soap, and personal hygiene items to help persons with HIV/AIDS in their constant struggle against further life-threatening infections and diseases.

We at First Church want to do our part to care for and support those who are affected by HIV/AIDS while building Christ-centered relationships in an environment that offers safe sanctuary to our guests. The guest's prayer requests are sent to our team members each week.

The Neutral Ground pantry needs the donations of church and community members to continue the vital work that it performs.

No sample sizes, please.  Donations should be brought to our 116 NE Perry building and put in the bins labeled Neutral Ground.  Monetary donations are also accepted.  Make checks payable to First United Methodist Church, specify for "Neutral Ground".

Additional volunteers are needed.  If you are interested in learning how to get more involved in the Neutral Ground ministry, please contact the church office at 309-673-3641.
